Jon Blomme is the Director of Instruction at Dunny's Divots in Port Perry, Ontario. A multi-sport athlete, Jon has spent his life pursuing excellence in sports, excelling in Golf, Basketball, Football, Baseball, Snowboarding, and Martial Arts. Recognized as one of Canada's top up-and-coming golf coaches, Jon was awarded the PGA of Ontario Junior Leader of the Year in 2018. He has helped golfers achieve D1 scholarships, win regional events, and secure club championships.

Jon continues to coach and play golf while dedicating time to training in the gym, meditation, and other sports. His coaching has helped many amateur golfers at Bayview, St. Catharines, Weston, and Summit Golf Club. He also runs a GAO Certified Golf Development Centre and has coached with Team Ontario.

Unlike most golf coaches, Jon learned the game outside of traditional golf culture, giving him a unique perspective. Growing up, he played golf on a farm with only a club, a few balls, and his imagination. Through relentless training before and after work, he developed into a scratch golfer. His journey has positioned him to help busy professionals excel in golf while balancing their careers.

Now coaching at Dunny's Divots (16050 Old Simcoe Rd, Port Perry, ON L9L 1P3), Jon is dedicated to helping golfers refine their skills, develop strong fundamentals, and reach their full potential.

Coaching pillars

Technical

This is the most important part of the game. If you have good technique the other elements of the game come much easier. Also, it can take a vary long time to improve technique. If you learn how to be athletic and master the other pillars, your technique will slowly improve as a result. This is the least painful way to upgrade your technique. The goal is to own your swing and make it as subconscious as possible meaning it requires the least thought.

Tactical

Your tactics around your game involve the processes that you use to play and develop your game. off course your routines will determine much of your outcomes. On course, the strategic decisions that you make before you choose each shot impact your score. To master this you must deeply understand your game and the probabilities. You then have to understand how your shot selection effects emotional state.

Mental

The mental skills are critical to performance in golf. It is a very deep endeavour to master the mental game. You must learn to be present, in control of your thoughts and emotions, a vivid visualizer, a master a concentration and to automatically connect to the target. Jon Blomme can help you master the mental game and in doing so, you will shoot lower scores and have an enriched experience when playing.

Physical

Your physical attributes contribute to what kind of athlete you are. The better of an athlete the easier it is to master the technical and mental pillars. Your physical attributes are Strength, Mobility, Balance, Coordination and Physical awareness. JB can access which attributes will yield the greatest returns. Then he can create a plan for you to improve your attributes which influence the other pillars. Such as, lifting weights makes you stronger but also improves confidence.
